How am I able to do that? It all started with my exposure and inspiration to the real estate profession as a young child with parents in the real estate industry. Along with experiencing the many life-long relationships that my parents developed, they were involved with and exposed me to all aspects of real estate (residential/commercial transactions, land development, new construction, property management, financing strategies, and brokerage ownership).
At a very young age, I came to realize that owning real estate brought an essential wealth building foundation to families. This foundation comes in the form of these 5 principles:
#1- Housing Is Typically the One Best Leveraged Investments Available.
For example, if you purchase a $500,000 home, put down $50,000 (10%) and your house appreciates $50,000, this is not only a 10% increase in value but a 100% increase in equity.
#2- You’re Paying for Housing Whether You Own or Rent.
When renting, you have no control over rent increases. When you own your home and pay on a fixed mortgage, your principle and interest payment remain the same over the life of the loan until you own the home free and clear.
#3- Owning Is Usually a Form of “Forced Savings”.
Studies have shown that homeowners have a net worth 44 TIMES GREATER than that of a renter. As a matter of fact, over a 5 year period from Q2 2018 through Q2 2023, the median home value in Utah increased from $300,000 to $490,000 [a $190,000 (63%) increase in value for an average $38,000 annual increase in value].
#4- Owning Is a Hedge Against Inflation.
As we have all witnessed over the recent past, home values and rents tend to go up at or higher than the rate of inflation. When you purchase a home, your home’s value will protect you from that inflation.
#5- There are still Substantial Tax Benefits to Owning.
Owning a home has always been and will always be better than renting in the long term.

Outside of real estate, I’m a husband, father and grandfather that loves to spend time with family/friends, travel the world, explore cultural histories, and spend time outdoors.
